Week 7 Start 'Em / Sit 'Em
You know the drill…so here it goes for week 7:
If you still feel like you are in a pickle, then send 8-Ball or I your quandary and your lineup requirements and whether or not it is a PPR league to: TheKing@FFLKing.com or 8-Ball@FFLKing.com
Please do not start anyone that is on a bye week…that would be anyone from the Lions, Jags, Ravens, Hawks, Titans and the Broncos.
This is the King’s list and may not directly correlate to the individual game prognostications. 8-Ball detailed out the 13:00 games, I had the rest. These are who I am playing or not...
Indy @ Rams: Manning is sweet, no doubt you are playing him. Wayne and Clark are must plays each week. Until there is evidence that Collie is not one of Manning’ fav five, then I play him over Garcon. Garcon is a risky play this week and the league I own him I am sitting him. In a PPR league you have to start Addai, he caught a ton of balls last game…don’t risk missing out on these again. Brown carries a lot of risk, avoid him if you can but there are worse options. Steven Jackson would start every week for me if I had him. Avery is banged up, if it looks good that he will be fine, then play him…sit the rest of the Rams. If Avery doesn’t play and you are really desperate, play Burton but I would like to see who else is available in your league before you made such a call.
Vikings @ Steelers: Overall I am not overly excited about the Vikings this week. All Day must play and I like Sid Rice in this one a little. The rest can sit. Unless, you hear that All Day ain’t fine, Chester makes a solid play in PPR leagues if All Day is limited. All the Steelers start except the ground game. I sit Mendenhall this week and Parker if I have the choice. Everyone else is a decent play: Big Ben, Holmes, Ward, Miller, Wallace…all can score.
Pats @ Buccs: Maroney seems to be the “in thing” out there. I am not convinced. Play him as you will but I just don’t like it…not buying…8-Ball loves him, but he has a conflict of interest in this case…he is a Maroney owner…BenJarvus Green-Ellis could sneak some action in…and Kevin Faulk will still be the 3rd down dude…I think Faulk makes a decent flex play option in a PPR league this week…more so that Maroney…Brady, Moss and Welker are in. Sam Aiken is a waiver wire pick up, in that you don’t start him but grab him “just-in-case.” I somewhat like Watson in this game too…play him if you have a need at tight end with the bye week. I am fine with you starting Bryant and Winslow this week, they should be productive. Nobody else from the Buccs.
Bears @ Bengals: Cutler and Palmer are both okay to play…I would have to see your other QB to play them though. Forte, although hasn’t done much, is playing for me if I own him. So are Hester, Knox, and Bennett. Just hard to sit these guys. I sit Olsen. Benson starts and so does Ochocinco. The rest of the receivers, I would be willing to take a shot on this week for Cincy. This is due to the 6 teams on byes…I would proceed in this order: Coles, Caldwell, Henry.
Chargers @ Chiefs: Don’t like it…something tells me to stay away. I expect Gates to have a huge day and you have to start Rivers. The rest I don’t like. With Chambers, Naanee and Floyd…this is diminishing Jackson a bit for me….also with the whole LT thing, I just don’t care for it. I think the offense is better with Sproles in it. 8-Ball is buying on LT cheap right now…I am not. I think he is really really done…thought so before the year…still think so. I cannot play Sproles until the ol’ ball coach sees it the way I do. I like Bowe and start him every week…the rest can sit from KC. Play LJ if you must, if you absolutely have to but proceed with caution.
Packers @ Browns: I know on the show I said I think Driver will disappoint. That is because Jennings is getting back and Finley is such a force…this doesn’t mean to sit him…I can see a Hines Ward type day for Driver so play him…I just have suspicions here is all…Rodgers, Jennings, Finley are must plays in my book. Not much confidence in Grant these days so shy away if you can. Nobody from the Browns…Massaquoi is the best option if you are scrambling for a spot.
Saints @ Dolphins: Lots of folks are wondering what is going to happen in this game…me included. I say, as always start Ronnie Brown…everyone knows that! I also say start Ginn Jr. this week, they just might have to throw the ball. No one else. For the Saints you have to start Brees and Colston…not sure you have to start anyone else. I like Thomas, in general, but this game is questionable for him. I am starting him due to limited options. I don’t start Bell or Bush, Moore or Henderson…I consider Meachem again…but this again would be only in a pinch!
Cards @ Giants: If they are playing, play them: Manning, Bradshaw (over Jacobs but still play Jacobs), the receivers in this order: Smith, Manningham (I think he gets more catches) then Nicks. Nicks is in my line up if I can. Warner, Hightower, Fitz, Breaston and Boldin (if he plays) are in this week and most every week moving forward. In fact, at this stage of the year….all of these guys are in my line up every week except Manning if I have a better option.
Jets @ Raiders: Thomas Jones has to start period. Playing Leon means that you are in a PPR league and are desperate. Keller is another desperation shot this week…the rest sit. I play Fargas in a pinch and Schilens in a pinch. That’s it the rest sit, including Z. Miller…
Falcons @ Cowboys: I like this game for fantasy. I like Romo, Barber, Austin, Witten. I like Ryan, Turner, White, Gonzo…all these guys play for me every week. Felix Jones or Choice are pure desperation plays and only because you have no other choice. Roy Williams should not start. I can find someone on your waivers I would rather plug in than him.
49’ers @ Texans: Gore is clearly a play this week. Vernon Davis is also a solid option. Call me crazy but I think Crabtree scores a touch in this one…play him if you have to but otherwise give him some time before plugging him in. No one else from San Fran. Schaub has been great, play him. Andre is a no brainer and so is Daniels. Slaton must play and Walter is definitely a decent option this week. Jacoby Jones is a play if desperate.
Bills @ Panthers: If you can, only play Deangelo Williams and James Stewart. Both should get theirs against the worst run defense in the league…Otherwise proceed with caution with Lynch and Jackson, Evans and Steve Smith. Nobody else.
Eagles @ Skins: I think Westy has a chance to have the biggest day of any running back this week. He must play. Reid has to look at the fact that if he ran Westy more last week that they would have won the game and will not make the same mistake again. I like Desean Jackson in this one too, Celek is a solid option. Maclin sits unless the bye week got me. Portis and Cooley are the only ones I would consider for the Skins…so many problems out there and I don’t like any of it!
Good luck this week!
