Week 6 Waiver Wire Wonders (Updated 10/13):
Don't wait too long for these gems...
Pick 'Em Up
Again, my frame of reference is 12 team (20 spot rosters) leagues. So players I am looking at here are available in some of these leagues and I am going after them if I have a need...and remember that the best move often made is the one not made…but where is the fun in that? If these guys would be on the bottom of your list and you feel there are better options out there...send 8-Ball or myself the folks that are out there on your waiver wires and who you are considering dropping and we can help you make the call...a lot of the list remains the same from last week...after this week the guys below should all be gone!
Miles Austin...just to put his name on the list...hopefully you listened last week...
I still like Mark Clayton as a pick up to play on bye weeks. I really like him this week, for some unkown reason...
Crabtree is still on my list and also worthy of a spot in deeper leagues...he might help out in a few weeks…
I am still thinking of Schilens in the weeks to come...he has taken a while to get healed up, but if you have junk on your team...give him a shot.
Mike Wallace should be gone by now...if he isn't grab him...
Finley is back from bye and if he is out there and you need a tight end this is a great call! Speaking of Tight Ends...I agree with 8-Ball, Scheffler is a solid plug in.
Odds are Nicks is gone...if not, why not?
Meachem/Henderson are also available in a lot of leagues. How many games do you think that Brees goes without throwing a TD? Injury can make either one of them a viable option.
Maclin and Ricky Williams are definite buys if they are out there....which is doubtful.
Some folks may have given up on Avery...get him if you can.
Also Deion Branch is an injury away of being extremely significant and can make a nice spot play moving forward.
If Breaston is out there, you gotta get him.
Lots of folks ditched on Edelman...which was the right move with Welker back...if you have an extra spot...let him fill it...if someone goes down here (like Welker again) he will be a great play.
Johnson at QB...is an option...
Last but not least, if Bryant Johnson or Northcutt are out there...they both make nice plays with Calvin out...worth a flex play or a bye week plug in.
Lots of folks have given up on Bobby Wade and Mark Bradley...these are tough calls but in an absolute pinch...I think you can play Wade...I am still not 100% sold on the fact that this team will not get better offensively...even though they have been offensive so far!
Everyone wants to know who this week's Miles Austin is...you will have to listen to the show to get my take...sorry...the price you pay for following The King!
