Week 5 Start 'Em / Sit 'Em

…here it goes for week 5:

If you still feel like you are in a pickle, then send 8-Ball or I your quandary and your lineup requirements and whether or not it is a PPR league to:  TheKing@FFLKing.com or 8-Ball@FFLKing.com

Please do not start anyone that is on a bye week…that would be anyone from the Bears, Packers, Saints or Chargers unless you are playing me…then it is okay!  There is some serious fire-power on byes this week with these teams on byes...don't be surprised when someone puts up 75 points this week!

Also, if you notice a dude in your starting line-up that ain’t on the list…this is a strong indication that your team is in need of help…eat a couple of apples, say a few prayers,…send in your team and we’ll pull out our scalpels and go to work on it!

Bengals/Ravens:  I start Palmer and Ochocinco…they are going to have to pass to score and they can do this…I sit Benson, he does nothing.  Although I sit Coles and Caldwell, this is the week to take a shot on Henry.  I think he will have a “startable” week and score a touchdown finally.  Feel good about starting any key player from the Ravens this week:  Flacco, McGahee, Rice, Clayton, Mason…and only Heap if you have to.

Buccs/Eags:  Antonio Bryant is the only one worth starting for the Buccs…consider Winslow if you have no other options.  For Philly, I run with Celek, McNabb, Jackson, Westy…and even McCoy if I am in need of a flex player.  Their defense is an excellent play this week.

Browns/Bills:  Massaquoi is starting if I have him…Anderson is a decent bye option, but not my favorite…Harrison plays for me.  Not much else from the Browns worth taking a shot on in my mind.  For the Bills, sit them all!  Lynch and Jackson should only be considered if you are in the hurt box to fill out your starting line-up due to bye weeks.  Same thing for TO and Evans…just not worth getting a goose egg in your point column.

Steelers/Lions:  Big Ben, Holmes, Miller, Mendenhall, Ward and even Wallace are all worth playing.  I don’t risk it with Parker, although against the Lions you may miss out on a few points…but why, I must ask, would they risk Parker further getting injured against the Lions?  Smith is a sit for the Lions unless you are in a PPR league and you are desperate.  This is not a good match up for any back!  Calvin must play and if you are in need of a tight end and the wire is thin…Pettigrew can play for you this week…Bryant Johnson remains an option for me in deeper leagues where I have serious problems at WR.

Skins/Panthers:  Start Cooley and if you have Portis you probably have limited options so plug him in but don’t expect a huge game, that’s it for the Skins.  Start Deangelo and Steve Smith and that’s all for the Panthers.

Cowboys/Chiefs:  Barber starts and so does Witten for me.  If Roy Williams does not play then I pick up Austin off waivers and play him this week, taking a flier on him.  Sit the rest of these jokers.  I sit Cassel, but consider Ryan as a tight end if I have mine on a bye…I also start Bowe and use Bobby Wade in desperation.

Raidas/Giants:  Run with Steve Smith, try Manningham but look for better options.  Jacobs and Bradshaw are in…and that’s it.  No Raidas!

Vikes/Rams:  All Day obviously, I start Chester as a flex this week (I am actually) and I sit the rest of the Vikes.  S-Jax has to start and that is all for the Rams.

Falcons/9’ers:  Run with Ryan, Turner, Gonzo, White…also run with Coffee and Davis for the 9’ers.  That’s all.

Texans/Cardinals:  If you got ‘em, start ‘em…all the Cards (except Bean Bag) all does include Breaston.  Walter is a must play.  So are Slaton, Schaub, Andre, Daniels, and the kickers Brown and Rackers.

Pats/Broncos:  If one or the other doesn’t play, then I play the other one…that being Buckhalter and Moreno.  Marshall is a clear start and I am with 8-Ball in saying that Scheffler is a start this week.  If you want to take a shot at someone…do so with Sammy Morris this week.  Brady, Moss, Welker…they start and you already know this.  All the rest from both teams sit.

Jags/Hawks:  I play Garrard and Hassy.  I also play Sims-Walker (must start each week) and MJD.  I play Burleson, Houshy, Carlson and Julius.  A decent fantasy game.

Colts/Titans:  Britt is worth it this week, I sit Gage again.  I sit L. White, you have to start Chris Johnson, Wayne, Garcon, Clark and heck I will even throw in to start Peyton Manning this week.  Brown and Addai need considering, I would like other options but if you have a need then plug them in.  Kickers are solid in this one.

Jets/Dolphins:  Thomas Jones plays and so does Ronnie Brown.  No one else for the Fins…but I do like Cotchery this week and Keller.  Sit Braylon Edwards and Leon Washington.  I know Edwards is supposed to start…but he will be a decoy if anything.  It won’t take long for even Sanchez to get sick of those drops.  If you have a need I would consider playing Clowney this week…he just might do a little something like score a 63 yard Td this week.  Mark it down…63 yards!

Good luck this week!
