NFL Week 4 Recap:
An overall EXCELLENT week for FFLKing.com prognosticators. We went 18-10 against the spreads which are always forced against our predictions, whether or not we told you to take it or not. The King moves to an overall 24-9 in outright games and 32-34 against the spreads after going 9-7 for week 4. 8-Ball moves to 18-10 in outright game winners and 21-29 forced against the spreads after going 7-3 this week. Caption Dave went 2-0 against the spread for his Monday night prediction.
Recap in reverse:
Packers 23 @ Vikings 30…game was called Vikings 30-23…cannot get much closer than that. Individual statistics did not match the box score as Finely broke out and Shiancoe scored a touch…Caption Dave got the over and the line right. Nice job on the score prediction Dave!
Chargers 28 @ Steelers 38 8-Ball called this game 24-21 in favor of the Steelers. Missed on the line but hit the over. Big Ben met expectations and so did Rivers. Ward met expectations as well in total points but the rest was in error as Gates scored 2 touches instead of the projected 1…and Mendenhall went off!
Cowboys 10 @ Broncos 17 8-Ball nailed Denver on the money line here…missed on the over. Also nailed Moreno’s production, called Marshall for a touch and a decent game and called Roy Williams for 3 catches and 45 yards, he had 3 for 35. He also nailed Buckhalter for 45 rushing yards with no touch and he only got 37 yards. Nice call 8-Ball, courageous to say that Broncos were going to go 4-0…and they did!
Rams 0 @ 49’ers 35 Again 8-Ball nailed this one calling it 27-6…he hit on the under and the line. He called Davis’ touchdown, called Avery for 3/50 and he went 3/47…also called McMichael for 2/25 and he went 2/27…missed on overcalling Jackson and Coffee production but you weren’t going to sit these guys anyways. Again a nice call here by 8-Ball.
Jets 10 @ Saints 27 8-Ball called it 24-13 in favor of the saints. Nailed both lines on this one. He hit on Keller, Henderson, Shockey and Meachem. He undersold Pierre and Jones. Brees goes 2 consecutive games without a touch…who would’ve thunk it?
Bills 10 @ Fins 35 8-Ball hit on the Fins upset, but missed the over. He hit on Ronnie Brown, missed on the rest. Not much else to say on this one!
Lions 24 @ Bears 48 The King nailed the Bears covering the spread and the over. Forte met my expectations and so did Calvin. The passing game of the Bears disappointed a bit.
Giants 27 @ Chiefs 16 I called this game 27-21 in favor of the Giants. Missed the line but hit on the over. Pretty close call here. Smith well exceeded expectations as he has done all year going 11/134/2. Wow. The rest disappointed, especially Dwayne Bowe.
Hawks 17 @ Colts 34 Exactly as I called it. Exactly! Brown and Wayne both scored as projected and Houshy had his best game as prognosticated. Manning disappointed as he only threw for 353 and 2 touches…thought he would have more!
Bengals 23 @ Browns 20 I called this game 30-17 in favor of the Bengals. Hit on the over but missed the line. Called Anderson for 269/1/1 and he went 268/1/1…must have been a measurement error I am sure! Also called Harrison for a productive day…but for the most part, the receiving game of Cincy disappointed. I also called a defensive TD for Cincy which actually happened.
Raiders 13 @ Texans 29 I called this one Texans 30-13…which cost me the over but hit the line. The reason I said not to take the o/u was my fear of the Raiders not being able to put up the 13 points which they didn’t. called Russell for 125 yards and he had 128. Also called Slaton for a productive day, but plenty of others (Andre and Walter) did not do what was called for.
Titans 17 @ Jags 37 Missed on both the o/u and the line on this one. Called Walker for 7/104/1 and he went 7/91/2. MJD let down and so did Johnson and White. Britt met the score projection but Gage disappointed. I guess if you are the Titans, you know you are in trouble when you got Collins running it in for 10 yards.
Ravens 21 @ Patriots 27 I called this one 27-24 in favor of the Patriots. The King is 8-0 against all lines this year in which the Ravens have played. Nailed this one. Called Flacco for 288/2/1 and he went 264/2/1. Called Rice for a decent day, which he had. McGahee scored a touch as predicted but let down in yards. Mason over produced, Clayton under produced…missed on most of the Pats offense.
Buccs 13 @ Skins 16 Missed on both lines here as I thought the Skins would win 24-14. Nailed Bryant for 4/57/1 and he went 4/44/1, also called Caddy for 106 total yards with 4 catches and he went for 99 total yards with 4 catches. Moss hit on the TD and Cooley met expectations again. Portis did not score the TD I thought he would but had decent yardage. Called a bad day for Winslow and this hit.
