Week 3 Start 'Em / Sit 'Em

You know the drill…so here it goes for week 3:

If you still feel like you are in a pickle, then send 8-Ball or I your quandary and your lineup requirements and whether or not it is a PPR league to:  TheKing@FFLKing.com or 8-Ball@FFLKing.com

If your dude ain’t on the list….he ain’t on mine….

I think Cassel is going to have a solid game in Philadelphia…I start him…I also start Bowe and Wade.  Wade is familiar with the offense, this showed last week with only a few days of practice and no chemistry with Cassel.  Not sure what happened to Bradley but you cannot play this guy.  I sit Larry Johnson, can you remember the last time he was significant in fantasy football?...me neither.  For the Eagles, Kolb ain’t a bad fill in if Hasselbeck and McNabb are your quarterbacks…if Westbrook sits, I start McCoy.   If Westy plays, he plays for me.  Celek is a decent option this week, you gotta start D. Jackson if he plays, other than that I stay away from the other WR in Philly.

For the Skins, I am starting Cooley and Santana Moss and that’s it.  I start Kevin Smith and Megatron, obviously…but I also consider Bryant Johnson a solid flex start this week.  The King’s been saying all along that he will eventually see some action with so much attention paid to Calvin…saw some news today that the Lions are finally listening to The King!  I think he catches 4 or 5 balls and scores…not bad for a flex player.

Green Bay is going to annihilate St. Louis this week.  Expect big pay days out of Rodgers, Jennings and Grant.  Driver would probably crack my line up this week as a #3 WR depending on my other options but he could have another decent outing.  I sit everyone in St. Louis except for S-Jax.  If you own Robinson and are in a PPR league then I consider him but that’s it for those jokers.

San Fran is going to have a tough way to go in Minny.  You have to start Gore if you have him and I consider playing Vernon Davis…outside of that, nothing worth speaking of.  Green Bay, I think All Day will do his thing, also think that this is the week that Sidney Rice steps up and scores a touchdown.  I know this because I dropped him in my local league…this is kind of like walking away from the Black Jack table and the next hand that would have come to you was an Ace and a Ten…don’t ask me how I know this…I don’t think Berrian is worth a start, not only this week but any week…there are better options than any Minny WR…Shiancoe is worthy of spot duty…but that’s it…not this week.  I sit Chester Taylor, and only play him if All Day gets dinged…too risky and not enough consistent production out of him.

The Tennessee and Jets game is tough to call…two solid defenses…I probably try and stay away from anyone in this game as much as I can.  Obviously you have to start Chris Johnson…outside of that I have no problem with you sitting the rest of the dudes on both teams.  Long term I like Gage, just not much in this game…I think anyone can see a redo of the first Thursday game of the season.

If you have ‘em from Atlanta or New England…start ‘em!  If Welker don’t play start Edelman…if you have Jenkins, this is the week to start him and get some use.  All the studs will score in this one.  Fred Taylor…worth a start…I avoid Ben Watson and Galloway, though…

If you have followed me for any time, you know how I feel about Sims-Walker…start him.  I know you are starting MJD, but just in case you were wondering he will be solid this week.  Everyone else on the Jags sits for me this week.  Holt sits and sits every week as far as I am concerned…Houston looks good to me this week and will put up some mad points.  Schaub, Andre and Daniels are safe plays.  This is the week that Slaton steps up or steps out of my line-up.  I am thinking he steps up…but if he doesn’t, I am done…

The Giants offense is good to go this week.  I think Eli is a solid play if your other matchups are suspect.  Manningham and Smith are must plays every week, in my opinion.  I never start Boss…not enough balls, but I do start Jacobs and also start Bradshaw (in PPR leagues).  I am not fond of the Buccs this week.  I saw what the Giants did to Dallas’ air attack…I really do not think Tampa is that much better than Dallas…I don’t take the chance this week with this team…I do not start anyone from the Buccs unless I have to.

No one on Cleveland should play…every Raven must play.  Enough said.

I don’t like the Chicago/Seattle game much for fantasy…Forte should have a great game but I wonder about the rest.  For me it would be hard to sit Julius Jones if he is healthy…and Houshy, but I would look at other options first.  I am not sold on Knox yet, but understand why folks took a shot at him this week.  I think Cutler, Hester and another guy (whether it be Knox or Bennett) will all step up as the season progresses…just don’t really see a need for them to air it out in this game.  Olsen looks like he is spending more time getting the snot knocked out of him than catching the football and running with it…so I avoid him for now…unless I worked for Kleenex.

The New Orleans/Buffalo game could rival the Pats/Falcons game for the most fantasy points scored.  I like anyone worth starting for Buffalo (F-Jax, Owens, Evans and Edwards) and also like anyone worth starting in New Orleans (Brees, Colston, Bush, Thomas, Meachem, Henderson and Shockey).

Ronnie Brown is the only Dolphin I start this week, and any week for that matter…I do like the Fantastic 4 from the Chargers…Sproles, Gates, Jackson and Rivers…what is not to like there?  Solid, I say…solid!  They all start every week…

Four players I consider in the Denver/Oakland game.  One of them is Denver’s defense…I could see them picking off one of those rockets that bounce of the back of McFadden’s helmet in for a score…other than that McFadden is worth a look in PPR leagues, so is Zach Miller and Buckhalter…you are taking a risk with Moreno and I would chose not to start him this week if I had a choice.  The rest sit for both sides.

The Steelers passing game is good to start this week.  I am not high on Ward, in general, but most likely if you own him you are starting him.  I look for Wallace to catch a long touchdown in this one so if you are thin at WR, then take a flyer on him.  I don’t know what to think about Cincy’s passing game…Ochocinco is the best play here…but I am not fond of starting Henry, Coles or Caldwell against this D…NO WAY I START BENSON THIS WEEK AFTER WHAT HAPPENED TO C JOHNSON AND M FORTE !

Indy and Zona presents another nice fantasy play this week….maybe they take the cake for the most fantasy points.  There is a risk/reward for starting either Addai or Brown.  Both are decent flex players…Wayne and Clark are clear every week starters and so is Manning.  Garcon is worth a shot if you are thin at WR.  I expect Boldin, Hightower, Fitz and Warner all to have a solid game…I sit Breaston and that dude from Ohio State that has “fumble-itis.”

I sit the Dallas WR and Romo this week.  I start FX-J (Felix) and Witten this week as I think the will be the biggest contributors.  Sure, if Barber sits you could take a shot at Choice this week…but I think you probably have a better play.  I like the 3 musketeers from Carolina a lot on the big stage…Delhomme, Smith and Williams…with that Achilles heal, I probably hold off on Stewart although he might do some damage too…I don’t start Delhomme…but I think he has a decent game…

Good Luck this week and may all your starters score touchdowns…unless they are on the team that I am playing…then I retract that thought temporarily!
