Week 2 Start 'Em / Sit 'Em

The King ain’t super fond of start/bench lists…so I will focus on some exceptions to the norm this week.  When I put a list out there, you may have 3 players on that list and can only start 2…then you send me an e-mail anyways and we take care of it.  No real value to the list, in my opinion…I do feel there is value why I think the way I do about certain players for this week…and that is to provide you the opportunity to agree or not with the thoughts…and make your own decision on who to start.

If you still feel like you are in a pickle, then send 8-Ball or I your quandary and your lineup requirements and whether or not it is a PPR league to:  TheKing@FFLKing.com or 8-Ball@FFLKing.com

Week 2:

If your dude ain’t on the list….he ain’t on mine….

You have to start Ryan Grant.  Cincy looks bad, really bad…easy to see the Pack running out the game in the fourth quarter and Grant having a big day.  Only dude I start from Cincy in Ochocinco…the rest gotta prove something before they get in my line up…they need to step up with all that talent!  Of course you start Jennings and Rodgers…not crazy about Driver though.

Slaton worries me, but can’t give up on the 3rd best offense from last year…not a great matchup but you have to start Slaton and Andre…not Schaub…other better options than Schaub… Gage and Scaife (otions 1 and 2) in the passing game are worthy of a start this week.  Johnson and White seem safe too…

Deangelo Williams is going off this week, easy call to play him.  Steve Smith will too…how many times does he score 4 points one week and 40 the next?  You can’t start Delhomme though…no reason to have to stomach a negative point week if he don’t make it through this.  No reason to sit Ryan, Gonzo, White or Turner…

All Day Peterson is an easy play…I also start Chester Taylor…expect 100 yards in total from Taylor and a touchdown, maybe two…again 4th quarter, some garbage…but the Lions will not be able to stop either one of them.  The only Lion I am comfortable with is Calvin…Kevin Smith caught a lot of balls last week and I only consider him in a PPR league…but I still don’t like it.

MJD is the only Jaguar I start, Zona D looks good.  Hightower starts on my squad but Wells don’t…Warner does too, not going to bet against him.

Bradley had a decent day against the Ravens…Bowe is gonna be shadowed by the best shutdown corner in the league.  I bench Bowe and start Bradley.  Larry Johnson, although he has not done anything in 2.5 years it seems, also cracks my starting line up this week…you are looking at 2 touchdowns this week and he usually owns the silver and black!  No one from Oakland starts on my team, I think McFadden has most upside to have a 20 point game…so if you have to then play him…otherwise stay away!

Brees must start and so must Colston, Henderson is in too…saw lots of plays last week.  Lance Moore and Meachem are only used if absolutely needed.  I play Bush in a PPR league but sit him otherwise…I only play Bell if Thomas is out…otherwise I bench ‘em both….No WR plays from Philly on my team…they will run 40 times if they can to control clock and limit QB errors…I consider McCoy if my other options are limited but Westy must start.

Santana Moss is a starter this week, so is Cooley and Portis…no way I start Campbell and I sit all Rams but feel compelled to play S-Jax…even though this is a bad match up.  If I have Grant and Chester Taylor I start them both over S-Jax this week….

Brady, Moss, Welker are the only Pats I start…I start Stuckey, Keller, Thomas Jones and Leon Washington this week from the Jets…the rest sit.  Belichick will find a way to screw up the rookie.

I don’t like anything about Tampa Bay this week…but start Ward if you must...I do like Edwards, he is going nutty this week at home against the Buccs.  Although they did nothing week 1, Owens and Evans are in my line up this week and Fred Jackson is in there and may continue to be in there even when Lynch comes back, especially in a PPR league.

Hassy stays in my line up…you know how I feel about him.  Burleson is a must start, so is Houshy if he plays and Carlson.  Hard to sit Julius this week but I do…Vernon Davis and Gore are the only starters this week for me for San Fran…Bruce if you have to.

Flacco, Mason and especially Mark Clayton play for me this week…so does Rice.  The rest get benched…you have to start Rivers if you have him…not real thrilled about much else from the Chargers except for Gates…but you also cannot sit Vincent if you have him…Ladainian does not start on my team even if he plays…Sproles is a tricky call…you can see them dumping the ball off to him to avoid pressure but then in the same play you can envision Ray Lewis taking him out…in a PPR league I consider Sproles based on my other options, otherwise let it go.

I sit Cutler but feel I have to start Hester and Forte…no one else…I consider Roethlisberger, but look for other options and start Holmes and no one else…

Nobody from Cleveland starts, I play Royal and Marshall and Orton this week.  I play Buckhalter too.  McDaniels will find a way to fix this offense and there is no better time than against one of the worst talented teams in the NFL at home!

It is no secret that the Giants are going to pound the ball…Jacobs is a must start, so is Bradshaw…so is Steve Smith (especially in a PPR league) and in my book so is…are you sitting down?...so is Eli and Manningham…Mario is gonna look super this week….also consider Boss if you need to.  There will be some points put up in this game…After continuing to pound the ball Eli will take some shots down field to Manningham.  Romo and Witten are gonna be huge…Barber and Felix are good starts…I stay away from the Dallas receivers…not enough action going their way and last week will not repeat itself.

Hard to sit Peyton in any circumstance so you gotta roll with him.  Also Wayne is a must play every week…Clark must play every week too…the rest of them sit.  If Miami can shut down turner…Addai and Donalsd Brown have their hands full.  Pennington sits, but is more productive….I play Bess, consider Fasano and run with Ronnie this week for the Fins.

Good Luck this week and may all your starters score touchdowns…unless they are on the dude's team that I am playing…
