NFL Week 2 Recap:

The King went 4-3 in outright games (14-3 on the season) also went 6-5 on picks against the spread,7-7 if you force each game against the spreads (overall forced against the spreads 17-17) as perfect as a blind monkey flipping a coin.  8-Ball was 4-5 outright games (7-8 overall) and 3-9 (8-16) versus the lines and the over/unders.  Some tough calls last week for 8-Ball... this week he will go up against the blind monkey to prove his worth.  On our PodCast this week, for his games, I will flip a coin for each game and or each over/under he does...this should be exciting to track...let's have some fun with this.

Here are the King's recaps....soon to be posted 8-Balls....might be a while tho as he has got a lot of explaining to do!

FFL King Recap:

Tampa Bay 20 @ Buffalo 33

Nailed Buffalo against the spread but thought the game would be under.  Called Owens and Evans each for a touchdown as well as Fred Jackson…although he did not get a touch, he matched the projected points.  Thought Owens and Evans would have more yards.  The Buccs put up 20 versus my projected 17, but did not meet the individual output I was expecting.  I think it is safe to start Edwards on a need basis, safe to keep TO and Evans in your line ups and safe to say that Jackson will be a force even when Lynch comes back, especially in PPR leagues.  Also safe to play Caddy as a flex player, safe to pick up Leftwich as a back up and safe their offense is going to continue to score because their defense is so poor.  Clayton, Bryant and Winslow should be the biggest beneficiaries, although at some point you would expect Ward to contribute more.

Seattle 10 @ San Fran 23

Hasselbeck going down and Gore running for 200+ and 2 scores blew this game out of the water for me.  Not even close, as I expected the Seahawks to travel well…Not much to speak of regarding the 9’ers offense outside of Gore, but I still like Vernon Davis.  The Hawks are in trouble without Matty….and I will leave it at that.  I sit their receivers until he comes back healthy….

Baltimore 31 @ San Diego 26

Had the over if you added up the points, but questioned taking it.  Nailed taking Baltimore with the money line.  Flacco had 2 td’s as expected.  McGahee continues to steal TD from Rice and I do not expect this to continue for long.  Clayton was a big disappointment this week.  Called Sproles for 6 catches and a Touch but did not see one going for 81 yards against this D.  Gates matched expectations less a touchdown and Jackson fared better than I expected.  Vincent Jackson is officially a stud in FFL now in case you were wondering.  Rivers showed why he is a top 5 QB airing it out for 400+ yards.

Pittsburgh 14 @ Chicago 17

Chicago won obviously, which surprised me, went under the line as expected.  I called Holmes for 5 catches and 83 yards, which he met exactly but he did not catch a TD…should have but it went right through his hands.  Parker ran for 47 and I called for 50.  Forte disappointed and so did Hester.  Knox looks like a solid waiver wire pick up, if he is still there.  I expect both offenses to step it up in the coming weeks.

 Cleveland 6 @ Denver 27

Called Denver 28-10, pretty close…nailed the game.  Missed on Royal and Marshall…things are not looking good for these former fantasy studs…I am worried about them and happy I do not have either one of these on my rosters!  The Browns are aweful and I am glad I stayed away from them too.  Harrison is back in the mix for the Browns, but this is not much relief.  I called Buckhalter for 71 yards and a touchdown and he ran for 76 and a touch.  Looks like Moreno is getting into the mix and I would expect him to shoulder more of the load moving forward.  Moreno will make a solid flex play in weeks to come, the rest of both of these teams I am worried about.  Yes, Edwards caught a few balls…check back with me after the Ravens game next week.

NY Giants 33 @ Dallas 31

Called Giants with the money line and also the over.  Nailed IT!  Called Manningham with a good game..did not expect a 10 catch performance…Smith also with 10 catches and a touch!  Both these cats have to start moving forward…not just good flex players but solid.  The boys let us fantasy folks down…nothing much from Romo except interceptions and Barber and Jones were the only ones to produce…I did not like their receivers heading into the year and still do not like them starting each week on a fantasy roster….I would take a shot at Austin time to time but that is it.

Indianapolis 27 @ Miami 23

This one hurt, I called the Fins at home by 4 and they lost by 4.  Close game, but no cigar.  Also thought the game would be under 42…but 2 scores in the first couple minutes put this at immediate risk.  I thought Bess would have a big game and it turned out to be Ginn Jr….I am down on the Fin’s offense outside of Brown who had a heck of a game.  You have to stick with the Colts offense…even without Gonzalez…they will continue to produce and score with Manning at the Helm.  Wayne had an of week, but will be fine.  Remember some of his biggest games in the past came with Harrison out.

Hit on 3 out fo the 6 upset calls:  Fins, Giants, Ravens, Seahawks, Carolina, Zona (Carolina had a shot….so did the Fins…but the Hawks were not even close...solid calls on the Giants, Ravens and Zona though.
