NFL Week 12 Recap:
The King went 9-7 in outright wins, pushing his yearly total to 83-36. Not too shabby. The King also went 17-15 forced against the spreads in week 10, pushing his total against the spreads to 121-114-5.
8-Ball's yearly totals remain at: Outright game winners 53-30. Forced against the spreads 64-90-5.
Packers 34 @ Lions 12: Nailed this game called the Pack against the spread and the Under. Hit on both. Not a hard one to call so keep the Kudos for later my friends.
Raiders 7 @ Cowboys 23: Nailed this game called the Boyz and the Under. Hit on both. Again, not a hard one to call. Austin did his thing again and Felix Jones scored as The King predicted. Again save the Kudos.
Giants 6 @ Broncos 26: Although I called the Under and hit on that, I missed the game by a landslide. Thought the Giants would be ready to play, they weren’t. The Broncos again look like a force to be reckoned with and with KC twice and Oakland in remaining games they should finish no worse than 10-6. Looking at the Giants’ schedule, they have 2 more wins under their belt the way they have been playing and will finish 8-8…Now this is a surprise on both accounts.
Dolphins 14 @ Bills 31: A T.O. resurgence has The King baffled in a good way. Although I had the over in this one, no way did I see 31 coming out of the Bills against Miami. Good for the Bills fans who have some hope. Fred Jackson, IMO, should continue to see a lot of the ball.
Hawks 27 @ Rams 17: Didn’t think that the Rams would put up 17 points, missed on the Over, nailed the game line. Again, not a tough call the Hawks giving 3. Very disappointing effort out of Hassy, but that goes without saying. The Rams need to keep their wins at 1 so that they can get their pick of QB’s in next years’ draft.
Skins 24 @ Eagles 27: The Skins scored one more TD than I predicted but still nailed the over, just missed on the Eags -9. The Eags just might win 4 out of their last 5 games and run into the playoffs 11-5, the worst I see them finishing is 10-6.
Buccs 17 @ Falcons 20: Thought the Buccs would win this one and it was close. Less points than predicted for sure. Falcons are in a world of hurt this year and it is going to be hard for them to make the playoffs. They probably lose to Philly and New Orleans over the next two weeks and face the Jets, Bills and Buccs again. Tough road I say.
Colts 35 @ Texans 27: Missed on the Over, but hit on the Colts win. They’ve won the last 21 regular season games. The Texans seem a bit lost to me since Daniels went down for the year.
Browns 7 @ Bengals 16: The Bengals scored less than I thought they would, hit on the under but they didn’t cover the spread. I was a little worried about this and said to stay away from the game. Nothing much else to talk about in this one but Larry Johnson toting over 100 yards. Benson better get back soon! Now the Bengals sweeping their division, that is truly an accomplishment. Amazing really.
Panthers 6 @ Jets 17: I continue to be surprised at Carolina’s ineptitude this year. This one was no different. Hit on the under but missed the game line.
Chiefs 14 @ Chargers 43: The game went over which surprised me. The Chargers handled their business as called. What a game by Gates, made me think about the show The League (based on Fantasy Football). If you haven’t seen it yet, get caught up on the web and start watching it on FX every Thursday. It’s hilarious.
Jaguars 3 @ San Fran 20: I am probably most surprised by this game than any other this week. 3 points out of the Jags? Come on man, just weak!
Cards 17 @ Titans 20: The line changed quite a bit on this one from what I published with Warner out. With that said I covered the ending line but missed on the over, but left the way it was I missed on the line and hit the Under…either way a Vince Young miracle cost me the sweep. Chris Johnson continues to impress and in my mind, if he keeps up this pace, should be considered for the MVP…if I had a vote I would consider such a thing.
Bears 10 @ Vikings 36: Hit this game on all accounts. The Vikes won by a little more than I thought they would but Cutler’s recent performances made this an easy call. Favre’s performances as of late are truly remarkable, Kudos to him.
Steelers 17 @ Ravens 20: Nailed this game with the original lines, however with Big Ben out I thought the Ravens would hold the Steelers down, which obviously did not happen. With Detroit, Chicago and Oakland left on their schedule, the Ravens will need to beat the Packers or the Steelers on the road to win 10 games. The Steelers face Oakland, Cleveland, Green Bay, Baltimore and Miami. The head-to-head game in week 16 could determine who makes the playoffs.
Patriots 17 @ Saints 38: What a terrific game by Brees & Co. Missed on the over (it went under by a point) and the Pats did not meet The King’s expectations. 5 touchdowns by the man, wow. Could we have two teams go undefeated this season and both meet in the Super Bowl? That’d be something!
