NFL Week 2 Prognostications:

Lines as seen Wednesday on http://www.footballlocks.com

 8-Ball Predictions:

Carolina @ Atlanta (9/20 - Sunday 1:00 Eastern)

You have to be worried if you are a Panther fan or a Smith and Deangelo owner after last week.  I can’t help but think that they are too talented not to rebound a bit.  My only worry is the quarterback play.  Atlanta has so many weapons that they should prevail in a tough, physical game.  Though this game can turn into a shootout, I think the defenses will make just enough plays to keep this game close.  Fantasy wise Turner, Ryan, Smith, Williams, White and Gonzo are must starts!  Here are our projections:

Panthers:                                                                                            Falcons:

Delhomme (240 yds/1td /2int)                                                Ryan (260 yd /2 td/1int)

Williams (80 rush 1td 4/24 rec)                                               Turner (95 rush 1 td)

Stewart (30 rush 2/25 rec)                                                    White (5/90/1)

Smith (7/89/1)                                                                    Jenkins (4/50/0)

Muhammad (4/55/0)                                                             Gonzo (5/65/1)

King (2/25)

8 Ball Prediction: 24 – 17 Falcons

Current Line:  Atlanta – 6  Over/Under 43

8 Ball Says:  Stay away from this game..don’t do it!

Minnesota @ Detroit (9/20 - Sunday 1:00 Eastern)

Last week was X-Mas so this week must be NEW YEARS!  Let me be the first to wish Happy New Years to all ADP owners as you can expect another BIG week against the Lions.  Look for the Lions to play the Vikings tougher than you think and Stafford to show why he was taken 1st in the draft.  Megatron finds the end zone during garbage time to make his owners happy.  Favre will be Favre as he will play ball control and put up less than 25 attempts.  Smith owners will be happy if you receive reception points but will struggle to run.  This is a great week to play the Vikings Defense as we predict 5 sacks and 3 turnovers.  Must Starts are:  Vikings, Peterson and Megatron only.  Bench Vikings WR, Smith (unless point per reception league), and Stafford.

Vikings:                                                                                                            Lions:

Favre:  200/1/1                                                                             Stafford 250/1/2

Peterson 130/2                                                                              Smith (40 rush, 6/50 rec)

Berrian (3/50)                                                                                MegaTron (5/90/1)

Rice (4/40)                                                                                    Johnson (3/40)

Viashancoe (3/30/1)

8 Ball Prediction: 31 – 17 Vikings

Current Line:  Minny – 10  Over/Under 46.5

8 Ball Says:  Run with Minny and the over…parlay it baby!

Cincinnati @ Green Bay (9/20 - Sunday 1:00 Eastern)

The Pack are Back Baby!  The Cheezheads will be celebrating all week as they move to 2-0.  Rodgers and Jennings will show why they are in the top three combos in the league this week.  Cincy will struggle with the Packers pass rush and Benson will find little room to run this week.  At the end of the day the Bengals will be looking down their schedule wondering when they will receive their first win.  Start Rodgers, Jennings, and Driver while staying away from all Bengals this week.

Bengals:                                                                                               Packers:

Palmer (230/1/2)                                                                  Rodgers (270/3/0)

Benson (50 rush, 4/40 rec)                                                     Grant (80 rush, 2/25 rec)

OchoCinco (5/80/1)                                                               Jennings (5/110/2)

Coles (3/30)                                                                         Driver (4/80)

Henry (4/60)

Coffman (1/10)

 8 Ball Prediction: 21 – 13 Packers

Current Line:  Pack -9  Over/Under 42

8 Ball Says:  Run with the under…avoid the line.

Houston @ Tennessee (9/20 - Sunday 1:00 Eastern)

The Titans show why they won 13 games last year.  The talented duo of White and Johnson step up and run away from the Texans.  Andre and Slaton will rebound slightly but are a week away from showing you why they were drafted in the first 15 picks of your draft.  Collins will do what he always does- play steady and win.

Texans:                                                                                                       Titans:

Schaub (200/1/2)                                                                      Collins (210/1/1)

Slaton (50 rush/1 td, 4/25 rec)                                                    Johnson (115 rush /1 td)

Johnson (8/95/1)                                                                       White (50 rush / 1td)

Walter (3/30/0)                                                                         Gage (5/67)

Daniels (5/50)                                                                            Britt (4/45)

                                                                                              Scaife (4/50/1)

8 Ball Prediction: 24 – 14 Titans (Tennessee by 10)

Current Line:  Titans -6.5   Over/Under:  40.5

8 Ball Says:  Take the Titans and the under!  Parlay it baby!

Oakland @ Kansas City (9/20 - Sunday 1:00 Eastern)

Have you ever had a bad day at work and came home and your significant other made you your favorite food, drew you a hot bath, and presented you with your favorite beverage?  Well, the Chiefs get that welcome with the Raiders coming into town.  Don’t be fooled by the showing on Monday night.  This team is bad!  Chiefs are the play of the week!  Keep an eye on Cassel to make sure he is playing but would recommend you go with other options as he shakes off the rust.

Oakland:                                                                                        Kansas City:

Russell:  180/1/3                                                             Cassell:  230/1/1

Fargas:  20 rush                                                              Johnson:  90 rush/1td  2/23 rec

McFadden:  70 rush/1td 4/30 rec                                       Charles:  20 rush 3/29/ rec

Bush:  40 rush/1td                                                           Bowe:  5/90/1

Miller:  4/55/1                                                                 Bradley:  4/75/0

Heyward-Bey:  2/25                                                         Wade:  1/13

Murphy:  3/65                                                                 Engram:  1/18

 8 Ball Prediction: Kansas City 24 – 17 (Kansas City by 7)

Current Line:  Chiefs – 3  Over/Under 38.5

8 Ball Says:  Run with Chiefs as the play of the week.  No 0/u!

New England @ New York Jets (9/20 - Sunday 1:00 Eastern)

I have to admit on how impressed I was with Sanchez.  He looked poised, professional and accurate in his first NFL game.  I also must give T. Jones his props and suggest you start him until you see proof of his demise we all predicted.  This game can be decided upon looking at the line.  The Pats struggled last week v/s the Bills while the Jets destroyed the Texans.  Vegas has overestimated the JETS while shortchanging the Pats based on last week.  This is easy money in the bank.  Take the Pats and run to the bank.  Don't buy into that phone call hype by head coach...the Pats are going to bring it either way!

New England:                                                                                    New York Jets:

Brady:  300/3/1                                                                  Sanchez:  270/1/2

Faulk:  10 rush, 4/40 rec                                                      Jones:  80 rush/1 td , 2/25 rec

Taylor:  30 rush                                                                  Washington:  40 rush 5/65 rec

Maroney:  30 rush                                                               Cotchery:  4/85/1

Morris:  0 rush                                                                    Stuckey:  5/50

Moss:  6/110/2                                                                   Clowney:  3/45

Welker:  8/95/1                                                                   Keller:  4/50

Galloway:  4/55

Watson 2/30

8 Ball Prediction: New England 24-17 (Pats by 7)

Current Line:  Pats -3.5  Over/Under 45.5

8 Ball Says: Take the Pats on the Road and give the points.  Don’t play with the o/u

New Orleans @ Philadelphia (9/20 - Sunday 1:00 Eastern)

This is the week that the Saints prove they are among the best in the NFC.  The Eagles come in flying high hoping to derail the best qb in the league.  Pierre Thomas looks to be back for the Saints who have soooooo many weapons.  This game is a pick ‘em due to the projected absence of McNabb.  The Saints will win even if Jaworski pulls his jersey out at halftime to go behind center.

New Orleans:                                                                                    Philly:

Brees:  330/2/2                                                                 Kolb:  180/1/1/

Thomas:  45 rush/1 td, 4/25 rec                                           Westbrook:  120 rush /2 td 3/35 rec

Colston:  5/75/1                                                                 Avant:  1/15

Moore:  4/55                                                                     Curtis:  2/40

8 Ball Prediction: New Orleans 24-21 (New Orleans by 3)

Current Line:  PK   Over/Under:  46.5

8 Ball Says:  Take New Orleans!  No o/u

St. Louis @ Washington (9/20 - Sunday 1:00 Eastern)

Steven Jackson owners do me a favor!  Whatever you do, DO NOT WATCH THIS GAME!  It will be easier to stomach when you realize you wasted your first round pick.  Expect the Skins to take out their frustration this week.  Portis will look as if he went back in time 4 years as he runs over and through the Rams.   The Skins Defense will also come up big this week with 5 sacks and several takeaways.

St. Louis:                                                                                      Washington:

Bulger:  220/0/2                                                             Campbell 230/1/1)

Jackson:  50 rush/1 td, 5/55 rec                                        Betts:  35 rush

Avery:  4/60                                                                   Moss:  4/90/1

Burton:  1/10                                                                  Thomas:  2/45

Robinson:  3/50                                                               Kelly:  2/30/0

McMichael:  3/35/0                                                          Cooley:  4/60

8 Ball Prediction: Skins 23-10 (Skins by 13)

Current Line:  Skins – 9.5   Over/Under:  37

8 Ball Says:  Take Redskins, take the under!

Arizona @ Jacksonville (9/20 - Sunday 1:00 Eastern)

The Cardinals will be an explosive offense again before the season is over, just not this week.  Warner will once again have decent numbers but will have a costly turnover that will enable the Jags to pull the win at home.  I would also not be surprised to see Ole Kurt go out of the game with an injury.  MJD will show all why he was drafted in top three picks.  Make sure you check the injury status of Boldin and Breaston before the game begins.

Arizona:                                                                                              Jacksonville:

Warner:  280/1/3                                                                Garrard:  260/2/1

Hightower:  30 rush,  7/70 rec                                               MJD:  80 rush /1 td, 4/50/1 rec

Wells:  20 rush                                                                    Jones:  20 rush

Fitzgerald:  8/110/1                                                              Holt:  5/100/1

Boldin:  5/70                                                                       Walker:  4/60

Urban:  3/35/                                                                      Williamson:  3/30

8 Ball Prediction: Jaguars 21-16 (Jags by 5)

Current Line:  Jags – 3   Over/Under:  42.5

8 Ball Says:  Take the Jags and the under!  Parlay it baby!

FFL King Predictions:

Tampa Bay @ Buffalo (9/20 - Sunday 4:05 Eastern)

All the other 4:00 games are solid…I hope for your sake this ain’t the one on the tube come Sunday afternoon…Tampa Bay’s offense comes down a bit after putting up some points at home against Dallas.  They face a tougher time on the road in Buffalo.  Trent Edwards is coming off the best game of his career and I would look for them to get a little more vertical at home.  Edwards continues singing on a high note (airs it out for 300 this week) and takes care of business.  Owens and Evans were not factors Monday night…expect a change here.  Fred Jackson is a must start, especially in PPR leagues.  Looks to me that the Buccaneers’ running game will be a crapshoot all year…I avoid this situation.  Here is what you’ll see in the box score:

Buccaneers:                                                           Bills:

Leftwich:  282 yards/2 touches/1 pick                          Edwards:  301 yards/2 touch/0 picks

Cadillac:  67 rush                                                      Jackson:  66 rush/5 catch 63 yds/1 rush TD

Ward:  49 rush/3 catches 37 yds/1 TD                          Owens:   5/109/1 TD

Graham:  25 rush                                                       Evans:  6/111/1 TD

Bryant:  3/39/-                                                         Schouman:   2/18/-

Clayton:  5/83/1 TD

Winslow:  3/49

Stevens:  2/33

Stroughter:  3/41

FFL King prediction:  Buffalo at home 24-17 (Bills by 7)

Current Line:  Bills -5   Over/Under:  42

King says…take the Bills and the Under

Seattle @ San Fran (9/20 - Sunday 4:05 Eastern)

This is a solid divisional game.  San Fran will try to control the game on the ground but heading into the 3rd quarter but will need to pass in the 4th to get it close.  Great entertainment here, but the difference will come down to quarterback leadership and Hasselbeck gets it done on Sunday.  The Hawks demonstrate that they are the team to beat in the NFC West by a convincing victory on the road.

Seahawks:                                                               49’ers:

Hasselbeck:  329 yards/2 touches/1 pick                         Hill:  204 yards/2 touch/1 pick

Julius Jones:  85 rushing yards/3 catch 26 yds/1 TD          Gore:  77 rush/3 catch 34 yds/1 TD

Carlson:  4/77/-                                                         Bruce:   5/69/1 TD

Houshy:  7/124/1 TD                                                   Davis:  4/65/1 TD

Burleson:  5/80/-                                                        Morgan:   2/27/-

Butler:  3/48/1 TD                                                       Battle:   1/9/2 rush 19 yards

UPSET PREDICTION

FFL King prediction:  Hawks on the road 27-24 (Hawks by 3 via walk off FG)

Current Line:  49’ers  –1.5   Over/Under:  39.5

King says…money line on the Hawks…definitely take the over!

Baltimore @ San Diego (9/20 - Sunday 4:15 Eastern)

Baltimore’s Defense feels disrespected after last week’s 24 points given up at home.  They take it out on San Diego.  You think that Oakland was fired up…wait to see what Baltimore’s going to do against that banged up O-Line!  Rivers is gonna get sacked 5 times and will be off his game.  Bruised and battered he tries rushing it a bit and Lewis and Reed do their thing.  Flacco and Clayton start thinking about the Pro Bowl!  Tomlinson sits…Bennett runs into a wall and the Ravens pin their ears back against the one dimensional approach.  This will be the most dominating game of the week…and on the road!

Ravens:                                                                  Chargers:

Flacco:  230 yards/2 touches/-                                    Rivers:  235 yards/2 touch/2 picks

Rice:  95 rush yds/5 catch 33 yds/1 rec TD                    Sproles:  18 rush yds/6 catch 60 yds/1 TD

McGahee:  61 rush/-                                                   Bennett:  8 rushes for 18 yards

McClain:  27 rush/1 TD                                                Gates:  6/80/1 TD

Mason:  4/39/-                                                          Jackson:   3/28/-

Clayton:  6/89/1 TD                                                    Naanee:   4/41/-

Heap:    3/32                                                             Chambers:  0/0

Washington:  3/28                                                       Floyd:  1/6

UPSET PREDICTION

FFL King prediction:  Baltimore on the road 24-17 (Baltimore by 7)

Current Line:  San Diego –3   Over/Under:  40.5

King says…money line on Baltimore…o/u too close to call!

Pittsburgh @ Chicago (9/20 - Sunday 4:15 Eastern)

Don’t think that the Steelers did not learn a thing or two from Green Bay last weekend.  Chicago is going 0-2 to kick off the season…just not enough talent at receiver to fully utilize Cutler’s skills.  Pittsburgh gets off to an early lead and goes back to trying to run the ball with little success.  Big Ben shows up on third downs and takes over the game.

Steelers:                                                                            Bears:

Big Ben:  269 yards/2 touches/-                                               Cutler:  260 yards/1 touch/1 pick

Parker:  50 rushing yards                                                         Forte:  73 rush/5 catch 40 yds/1 TD

Homes:  5/83/1 TD                                                                 Hester:  5/60

Ward:  4/61/-                                                                        Knox:  2/28

Wallace:  3/38/-                                                                     Bennett:   4/59/-

Miller:  4/31/1 TD                                                                   Olsen:   4/44/1 TD

FFL King prediction:  Steelers on the road 20-14 (Steelers by 6)

Current Line:  Steelers –3   Over/Under:  38

King says…run with the Steeler and take the under!

 Cleveland @ Denver (9/20 - Sunday 4:15 Eastern)

Hosting Cleveland gives Denver false hopes of a Playoff year!  Josh McDaniels does not put up another sorry offensive game and Orton goes nutty on the Browns.  McDaniels keeps calling for the pass, even though the game is well out of hand.  A fantasy dream for Royal/Marshall owners.

Browns:                                                                      Broncos:

Quinn:  225 yards/1 touch/1 pick                                      Orton:  goes for 330 yards/3 touch/1 pick

Lewis:  75 rushing yards                                                  Buckhalter:  71 rush/1 TD

Royal:  4/56/-                                                               Moreno:   33 rush

Furrey:  3/47/-                                                              Stokely:  2/33/

Edwards:  3/41/-                                                            Scheffler:   4/58/1 TD

Heiden:  3/50/1 TD                                                         Marshall:   7/120/1 TD

                                                                                   Royal:  6/99/1 TD

FFL King prediction:  Broncos at home 28-10 (Broncos by 18)

Current Line:  Denver  –3   Over/Under:  37.5

King says…take Denver at home….no o/u!

NY Giants @ Dallas (9/20 - SNF 8:20 Eastern)

There is always drama in Dallas.  This week it is kicking off their home opener in the new stadium by losing to a superior defense.  Manning might not be a doctor, but he is going to play a surgeon on TV Sunday night.  He looks dialed in and will carve up that defense like a Thanksgiving Turduckling!  This makes Madden proud!  Romo and Witten put on a show, but outside of Bennett, there is little hope shown by the wide outs of Dallas.  The running game will be rendered useless after a 10 point half time deficit.

Giants:                                                                       Cowboys:

Eli:  279 yards/3 touches                                                Romo:  goes for 262 yards/2 touch/2 picks

Jacobs:  105 rushing yards/3 catch 22 yds/1 TD                 Barber:  73 rush/4 catch 39 yds/1 TD

Bradshaw:  28 rush/5 catches 73 yards 1 rec TD                 Choice:   39 rush

Smith:  3/42/-                                                               Williams:  2/17/-

Manningham:  5/77/1 TD                                                  Austin:   1/16/-

Hixon:  2/41/1 TD                                                           Witten:   8/105/1 TD

Boss:  3/24/-                                                                 Bennett:  4/61/1 TD

                                                                                   Crayton:  1/13

UPSET PREDICTION

FFL King prediction:  Giants on the road 28-24 (Giants by 4)

Current Line:  Dallas –3   Over/Under:  44.5

King says…money line on Giants…go over baby!

Indianapolis @ Miami (9/21 - MNF 8:30 Eastern)

Pennington bounces back on prime time and Miami controls the ball with 4 or 5 long drives to kill the clock.  Bess catches 9 short passes and has a career game with a score.  Many a fantasy owner are pissed that they sat him down and have to watch this spectacle on Monday night.  After getting embarrassed last week, Miami redeems itself.  Miami held Turner down last week…Addai is no match and the rush gets to Manning throughout the night.

Colts:                                                                             Dolphins:

Manning:  268 yards/2 touches/2 picks                                  Pennington:  278 yards/2 touch/0 picks

Addai:  59 rush yards/2 catch 16 yds/1 TD                             Brown:  79 rush/4 catch 29 yds/1 TD

Brown:  27 rush/ 2 catch 19 yards/-                                     Williams:  35 rush

Wayne:  8/108/1 TD                                                           Bess:  9/119/1 TD

Garcon:  3/38/-                                                                 Ginn Jr.:   3/40/-

Clark:  5/69/-                                                                    Camarillo:   3/39/-

Collie:  2/18                                                                       Fasano: 4/51/1 TD

UPSET PREDICTION

FFL King prediction:  Fins at home 21-17 (Fins by 4)

Current Line:  Indy –3   Over/Under:  42

King says…money line on the Fins…no o/u!

6 Teamer "Dreamer" play of the year:  Fins, Giants, Ravens, Seahawks, Carolina, Zona (all upsets on the money line)...A $25.00 bet pays 234:1…you could walk away with $5,866.00 if the King's crystal ball is clear!

I know 8-Ball had different takes on the Carolina/Zona games but Delhomme ain’t gonna go out like THAT…last several times he faced Atlanta…he did well and they do have some rooks on that D…D. Williams gonna go nutty in this one...try 180 yards rushing and 2 or 3 scores...Zona D looks good…Jags O-Line doesn't...and lack of WR talent in Jacksonville…I like Zona’s chances...
