What Am I Thinking? -- The King's Fantasy Football Diary --
October 23, 2010
I am thinking you have to get Anthony Gonzalez on your team if you haven't already (just for a couple weeks, just in case he can get healthy)...Again, let me note although I am slacking this year with the site, we still respond to all e-mails that come in...so keep sending them in.
Looking at this weeks' games I think I have finally found the perfect 6 teamer for 2010...here it goes:
Saints a no brainer at home, same with the Ravens and the Seahawks...also add on The Patriots a road dog against an inferior team, the Titans/Eagles Over and the Cowboys/Giants Over...
3 Team Dreamer = Money Line plays on the Panthers, Pats and Vikings...
October 16, 2010
Well the one Online World Championship team hangs in there at 5-0 and in 5th place overall and is uniquely different than the ones ahead of it. Another is atop it's league for a share of 1st place at 4-1 and the last one is 1-4 (with little hope of recovery). In the Main Event one of the teams (8-Ball's) is 42nd Place overall with a 4-1 record. This team is in a league with the 8th and 12th best teams overall (out of 876 total teams). Not much room for error and we won last week by less than 2 points. This week the top 4 teams, all 4-1 or better, are playing each other this week...must win week! The Oracle's Main Event team is crawling back into competition with a 2-3 record. These cats in this league should learn not to count out The Oracle with the likes of Rivers, Foster and Andre on it. FFL King's local team is 3-2, The Oracle 5-0, 8-Ball 2-3.
Good luck this week y'all !
I am thinking that Chicago, Chicago under, Patiots, Patriots over, Indy & Indy over make a fine 6 Teamer this week.
I also like the Jets combined with 2 money line upsets (Detroit & Atlanta) for a nice 3 teamer pay day.
October 10, 2010
The year has started off pretty solid...one of the Online World Championship teams is in 7th place and one of the Main Event World Championship teams is in the Top 25. With the regular season crossing over the 33% done mile marker, they both have a shot! A few others are points leaders in their respective leagues so we will see what the next 1/3 has in store for us. Best of luck this Week!
I am thinking that the lines are pretty well set with my predictions except for the following: Colts, Packers, Falcons, Texans & Saints. I am also digging the Over in the Bills game, the Bengals game and the Cowboys game...Thise 8 are the Plays of the Week!
September 25, 2010
We've been getting to all the questions coming in but not much else. I will definitely continue the weekly prognostications and post anything else I can within the schedule. Game Day predictions for Week 3 are posted. If you have start/bench or trade questions continue to send them! Best of Luck this week!
My Three Team Dreamer for Week 4 is a lock this week: Cincinnati, Seattle, Jets...all on the Road and all a lot better teams than their opponents.
6 team Dreamer...add on the following to the 3 Teamer: Chicago getting points, Miami at home getting points, Tennessee only giving a TD at home.
September 18, 2010
Better late than never and you cannot rush perfection...that's what I say. Thanks for your patience this week. The season will be up and down from my time perspective but I will post my prognostications and Fantasy Takes each week. Week 2 prognostications are now posted!
This week, my 3 Team Dreamer is: Miami, Chicago & the Giants...take the points in the 3 teamer and take it to the bank.
Bonus 3 Team Dreamer is: Seattle, Oakland and Houston...
6 Team Dreamer = 3 Team Dreamer + Bonus 3 Team Dreamer!
September 17, 2010
Been hooked up y'all...check back Saturday morning for Game Day Predictions and Fantasy Impact...they will get done...just mad busy at this second! Thanks for patience and if you have questions send 'em in.

Week 1 is on like Donkey Kong….bring it fellah’s. 8-Ball, The Oracle and I drafted yesterday in the World Championship of Fantasy Football in Vegas. We pretty much let The Oracle do his thing as we conspired to win it all in 2010. Vegas was a blast and the drafts were solid…looking to go 7-0 week 1!
My teams and our WCOFF teams are posted on the site. We’ll keep ya posted on progress throughout the year.
I am digging Detroit, Cleveland and Baltimore this week with a 3 Teamer Dreamer all on the Money Line…50 bones paying 846.55
If you ever want to know what time it is while texting…just enter the letters “LT” into your text line. After hitting the space bar you will then see the time stamp appear…this got me thinking what time is it for FFL Week 1? LT time baby, LT time…whenever I am texting something about LT in my messages, I tend to get annoyed with this situation….now I have determined it has had a deeper meaning all along…he is in our starting line-up in the main event…that’s right baby, it is LT TIME!
Best of Luck week 1 y’all…
September 07, 2010
I am still shook up with Bobby Wade being released by the Skins...just wondering if I will ever get over this tragedy? Working on Week 1 Activities...responding to questions...I see 12 road teams winning this week. Might sound crazy but they are just better teams. The 3 point advantage that home teams have is an old wives' tale...bunch of smoke and mirrors...don't buy into that nonsense!
September 05, 2010
4 Days till kick off. 6 Days till the World Championship of Fantasy Football in Vegas. Some folks on the waiver wired that I don't think should be....Huggins, Branch and Morgan...Some folks that should be on the wire but won't be after week 1: Lloyd (WR Broncos) and Butler (WR Hawks). Heck if Mike Williams can make Houshy obsolete, surely Lloyd can make Gaffney the same. Deon Butler was highly touted by The King last year...this year he shows what he can do with the opportunity.
Hope everyone gets out of the house on Labor Day...go hit that little white ball around, go to the park, DO SOMETHING other than watch the NFL station all day!
This is the first year I will not need a cheat sheet on WCOFF draft day...a schedule may come in handy but as far as the players go...I have been through the draft so many times...it is all in mt noggin'. This is sad it has come to this...obsession...ah well could be worse I guess. Check back after the holiday...we'll start posting some week 1 stuff. I can't wait to prognosticate the week 1 games. Always tough the first few weeks...I like the challenge.
September 04, 2010
Drafted a couple teams tonight...back to back drafting...can't get enough...now I just have to find someone to manage all these teams...usually I try and stick to 3 teams total (our local league, WCOOFF and WCOFF). This year it mushroomed a bit. Tons of e-mails coming in keeping me from posting some notes, but those in need I feel obliged to help. After back to back 7-4 Seasons in Vegas and 11-3 Seasons in our local league...I am ready to be honored with both the Online World Champion as well as The Main Event! This is the year. Football is only a few days away! YYYYYYYYeeeeeeeessssssssss!
August 31, 2010
Most games have standard rules...Texas Hold 'Em, Ping Pong, Chess, Duck Duck Goose, Dodgeball, Billiards...the list goes on...except for FFL. Every year around this time I start to develop Percy Harvin type headaches trying to help someone figure out a strategy for their upcoming draft with all the crazy rules and scoring systems out there...I said it last year and will say it again this year and probably will every year...we should all adopt the same scoring system so that we can all measure players' values the same. Starting line up requirements may have to change based on league size, which may shift some of the positional values...but the scoring could be the same. The problem comes into play due to the backyard origins of local Fantasy Leagues that derived from the newspapers in the early 90's into the frenzy it has now become...not sure of the exact number but I would guess there is 25 million folks playing the game...There are probably 50,000 different scoring systems out there...not needed I say!
For those of you drafting this week, the cheat sheet and Top 200 have been updated…clearly the other “CJ” (Spiller that is) and Foster needed to move up…as well as others.
After going through a few drafts, it remains clear in my mind that the need for a top 7 QB and a top 7 Tight End is essential. It doesn't always work out that way though...I got burned on the QB in a few and only time will tell if this will jeopardize my goals for an undefeated season…might be forced in to a 11-2 or 13-3 season…afterall, only 1 out of the 8 World Championship teams historically have had a stud QB...so there is hope for those who do not land a stud QB.
There remains plenty of value at RB and WR to grab decent secondary starters with upside to perform as #2’s and due to this phenomenon this year there is no reason to sacrifice the QB or TE spots. Unless, of course, you are a homer like me…and root for Detroit and consider the fact that if Stafford completes passes this year at his rate of the pre-season...then he throws (based on last year’s stats) for 5,000 yards and 30+ scores…not unbelievable considering they will have to pass…then you take a shot at him as your top QB and roll the dice.
August 30, 2010
Spiller, Foster...both moving up the charts and rightfully so...I also expect Garcon and Maclin to be moving up over the next week from their ADP's...Berrian should also move up but at a slower pace than the others...Jacoby Jones should be sky rocketing as well...Finley and Best also moving on up...all solid players to have on your team, even if you do have to take them a bit earlier than you first thought.
Thinking about our local league draft...got snaked out of the QB spot a bit...Rivers went pick before me in the 5th, but that wasn't too surprising. Others panicked at the QB position taking Palmer and Flacco early...at that point I felt I could sit on one a while, which I did...at the time I took Welker in the 4th round, I had already predetermined with the pre-season Romo had to date, I would take the risk that Welker could catch well over 100 balls, gain points in this position (a potential top 5 WR in our league as a 3rd WR on my team) and sacrifice the QB...if he does, I have real potential of launching into the playoffs in week 15 with 4 of the top 10 WR on my squad...with Sid the Kid returning half way in to the season with 6 more weeks to get into "my" playoff game shape...I think it is worth taking a shot on Sid the Kid in the later rounds.
August 29, 2010
After last night, the Boyz fans can't be happy! Zona--told you that cat from Toledo is tough...
Our Local League Teams...interestingly enough this is how it went...the best thing you can take from this draft is that The Oracle piled up on Houston players...and so should you if you have yet to draft.
What started off as an odd strategy for The Oracle in taking Andre #1 (PPR league) thinking a couple good backs and no good WR would be available in his next picks...backfired when 3rd round RB went in the middle of the second round and Gates was pulled of the board due to someone not understanding the scoring system...this pushed stud WR to the 3rd round...and a void at RB. Here's to hoping that the other Manning has a better year than his brother...

Last year over 6,000 folks used The King's Cheat Sheet to dominate their drafts...the jury is still out for this year...next year I am going to set a target for 25,000. Drafting today at 14:00 and I know I am going to kill this one...local draft...it is like I am being transported to the party in a big wooden horse...then surprise before it hits 'em my team is irresistable. I'll post the team before I retire for the night.
I flew through Chicago on my way home today from Dallas...considered buying FXJ and Forte jerseys that I could rotate on and off during draft day...thought better of it just in case I do not get em...
Cheat Sheet is posted and I just printed off my copy to take with me to tomorrow's draft...it is sad really...everyone I draft against has access to all my notes like an open book test...the thing that kills 'em is strategy and they cannot control the fact that my decision trees are already defined based on draft day events...there ain't no stumping The King they just lead me down a different path sometimes...11-3 last 2 years. This year I plan on going 13-1 and there is nothing they can do about it.
August 27, 2010
Is Rodgers incredible or what…watched some of that game last night and continue to be impressed, starting to worry a bit that his ability to spread the ball around is too impressive to rest my hat on taking Greg Jennings in the 2nd round…I think I will avoid this on draft day if the likes of Desean Jackson is there…(I had already updated the Cheat Sheet accordingly but wanted to explain)…I am okay with taking Rodgers in the first round…not sure anyone could give me a good reason why he couldn’t break some records this year…tell me why he couldn’t throw for a 3 touchdowns per game…I would pile on with how great Finley is, but to the visitors of the site this is last year’s news to The King…
If you are in to taking a defense early then take the Packers first! I am moving them up and Minny down on the Cheat Sheet…with the way they will score points this year, opposing teams will be passing a ton against them…just like New Orleans last year. This means more sacks, more interceptions, more touchdowns, more opportunities…and they have talent too…easy decision in my mind…they are moving on up!
Gates has now moved up my list and overtaken the #1 TE spot on my Sheet. I justify this by the fact that Vincent is missing time and not only will Rivers be throwing the ball…Gates will be his most trusted option in doing so…as well as the fact that I perceive Gates to be healthier than he has been in the past. 111 balls this year is not out of reach for Antonio…plus he did appear on the show The League last year and I should have taken this into more consideration when I came out with my initial rankings…nothing but upside for Gages…and let’s face it…Manning has tons of weapons to use other than Clark and I do believe they will try and run it more this year than in the past. I think they will have that luxury with a healthy Donald Brown and with a year under his belt he will see more of the pie. I am not knocking Clark down far...only to the second spot, so no hate e-mail on this one and if you do not agree then don’t take Gates first! I’ll update my sheet tonight so you can print it off in the morning for your drafts on Saturday.
Yesterday I traveled from Detroit, the new home of where Rookie sensation Best is going to make the King proud…and on to Dallas to the home of FXJ (King’s nomenclature for Felix Jones) who I am hoping will have an opportunity to contribute to a few of my teams this year…sorry FXJ it didn’t work out for us so far. Not a heck of a lot of players who can take it the distance on any play...Desean Jackson, Charles, Chris Johnson, FXJ are few and far between and FXJ will get more chances to do so this year…everyone is worried about injuries and the guy can’t run the ball more than 8 times without getting hurt…blah, blah, blah…anyone can get injured and anyone can stay healthy IMO. It’s hard enough trying to predict who is going to produce and who is not going to produce, but injured? Forget about past injuries and concern yourself with who is currently injured and who has potential to produce if you want to win…I will take a shot at FXJ starting in the 5th round. He will do a lot more with 12 to 15 touches than most other backs do with 20. I tried to get the inside scoop from the shuttle driver in Dallas on FXJ this year, but he was a Saints fan…got them crawling out the woodwork now…he did confirm my high expectations for Reggie Bush though!
The end solution to free agent acquisition bickering…How do you handle free agent pick-ups in your league? In our local league we have gone through several iterations/changes over the years as the free services we have used did not allow the blind bidding/auction process. We have kept our league fees constant and cheap over the last 15 years or so because most of the folks in the league pay too much attention to football instead of working and do not have much expendable income…with league entry fees of $35.00, we historically have spent more than our entry fees on transaction costs ($4.00 per trade and $3.00 per free agent acquisition)…some of us are in bigger cash leagues (Vegas $2,500 leagues, etcetera) but money has little to do with our local league and all to do with getting your name engraved on the trophy (which has been in existence since 1995). 24/7 open door policy to free agent pick-ups isn’t equitable for those of us who aren’t watching every game, every minute of the day…or for those of us that actually work and cannot be sitting in front of the computer scouring NFL news every minute of every day….resetting waiver wires based on standings is not equitable either for the person who drafted a good team…not resetting the waiver wires is not fair to the guy who had bad luck with injuries…the list goes on and those of you who are Commissioners have lived through this and more…in the olden days it was who called the Commissioner first and it clearly was to your advantage to be with the Commish on game day at the bar watching all the games so you could get first dibs in on a replacement player…then favoritism came into play. Now that ESPN.com offers blind bidding auction process we finally have a way to even out the playing field…the only problem was with fake money to start with, how do we pay for transactions? Here is what we came up with…everyone puts in $40.00 for potential free agent acquisitions (average expenditure per owner last year)…$15.00 of that will be gone whether you use it or not and if you spend more than the $15.00, then you owe a check but you cannot spend more than $40.00. With this format you could spend all of your $40.00 on one player or you could spend $1.00 on 40 different players but once your money is gone, so are your free agent acquisitions…spend wisely. This system is fair, balanced and offers a whole new strategy to the continuously challenging fantasy world we live in. In my experience in the World Championships, you probably would want to target 3 top free agents in critical positions and spend 20-30% of your $$ on them. The rest of the cash can be used for fill in kickers and defenses and other long shots throughout the season…it is always best to try and pick up a player for $1.00 before he becomes a sensation…before he costs you $15.00 or more in this system.
August 25, 2010
Cheat Sheet updated...I am higher now on the rookie RB: Mathews, Best, Spiller...also higher on Bradshaw, Michael Bush and Foster for obivous reasons...down more on Favre and a few other minor changes...
Drafted in the World Championshop of Online Fantasy Football last night...very pleased with the team and this one has a shot...we'll see what happens at the RB position...here is how it went by round (12 team, PPR...4 points per passing TD)...I held the 6th position:
- WR Randy Moss (Andre gone...wanted flexibility in the draft and didn't want to box myself in taking a RB...mapped it out several times taking a RB first round but did not like the results...stuck with what I knew...after my pick in the second round there would be a drop off at WR and I will take my chances on RB later on...)
- WR Brandon Marshall (Was planning on pulling Desean Jackson or Jennings...Jennings went and I took the upside in receptions)
- QB Tom Brady (thinking a back will slip as well as TE...no way to take a WR here with the drop off...doubt Brady and/or Romo make it back so this was easy call and what I planned heading into the draft)
- RB Jahvid Best (thought Forte might slip, both big TE's still on the board so I will be able to pull a TE in the 5th...don't like value at WR here so I pulled Best who was my choice heading into it if Forte did not fall...very happy with the upside and receiving threat)
- TE Jason Witten (wanted top TE...no teams below me with one...not worth the risk at this point but I was considering Bowe who I like as well as Felix Jones)
- RB Reggie Bush (had him pegged all along at this spot...surprised with Maclin, Garcon still on the board...with that said I was comfortable that a WR I wanted as my third would fall to me in later rounds...also felt comfortable with WR I was focused on post 10th round)
- RB Jerome Harrison (He's pretty high on my list and there's upside here. Hardesty is surely a concern but couldn't pass on the upside)
- WR Bernard Berrian (When Floyd and Knox and Berrian were all available for my pick in the 7th, I figured one of them would fall and they did...happy with the draft at this point because I am feeling comfortable I will not only have a solid play at flex at RB but also WR and my depth will be strong)
- RB LaDainian Tomlinson (maybe too much Hard Knox watching...but they run the ball so much Green won't last and LT is going to get some catches and TD's...very happy to land him)
- WR Santonio Holmes (in evaluating players here I took the 4 game suspension out of the equation...I will not need to start him anyways and see a 6th round pick here from that point forward in the 10th round...no brainer)
- RB Laurence Maroney (there is quite a bit of upside here I feel with him being the youngest one of the bunch...I was having a hard time deciding between Hardesty and him but Fish picked up Hardesty the pick prior making the decision easy)
- WR Dexter McCluster (I am wanting Gonzalez in this spot but Collie is still on the board...thinking Collie goes ahead of him so I am likely to get Gonzalez in the next round...worried about McCluster, who I just had to have, not being there...this is my favorite pick of the draft at this point...)
- WR Anthony Gonzalez (slot receiver for one of the best passing games is a heck of a lot better than bad passing teams' #2....Collie is on the board still and he's mine if he is there next round...this is my new favorite pick of the draft)
- WR Austin Collie (no brainer...and injury to Garcon or Wayne and my receivers are ridiculous...my newest favorite pick of the draft)
- RB Javon Ringer (wanted him when I pulled Collie...was talking to 8-Ball when I made the selection and he was surprised the cat that took CJ didn't pull him....but he was too busy taking a kicker, Sid Rice and Heyward-Bey the last 3 rounds...)
- QB Alex Smith (QB getting thin...none I really liked for back up...if Brady goes down so do I anyways so I took the one with best wide out talent left)
- TE Jermaine Gresham (was looking for Hernandez but he went and so did Shockey...at this point I needed someone with upside and was very happy to land Gresham)
- D Chicago Bears (I hated to draft a defense with all the players I still like on the board...Morgan, Douglas and a bunch of other WR...I know that one of them will be available later so I pulled Da Bears)
- PK Robbie Gould (took one cuz I had to)
- WR Josh Morgan (I liked Morgan in the 16th round...plus I spent so much time cracking on Crabtree I felt compelled...)
August 23, 2010
Just thinking about Forte and what will happen to him on draft day. After his long scamper the other night…it is definitely hard not to consider him in the 4th round. He still has the talent that landed him in the top 4 backs drafted last year. I will not rule him out, depending on how draft day goes.
I was watching a Fantasy show last night…most of it was frustrating…but reassuring that The King must continue to keep it real… Commercials tried to dominate but TiVo is a wonderful thing…also adding to the frustration was the lack of meat I was able to chew on while watching the show. Some dude sent me a note earlier in the week stating how the show was following similar draft strategies as I was …my first inclination was my reply…”maybe they are following the King’s site as well?” However after hearing how it was too early in the 5th round to take Flacco and about taking FXJ in the 8th/9th round and Bradshaw in the 10th, Finley in the 7th, targeting Crabtree in the 5th, Knox in the 11th…I was lost. Not sure how many teams they were focusing on in their Average Draft Positions or where these numbers were coming from because in my drafts, none of these players will be available in the rounds offered, except for Flacco who will go around the 9th/10th round in my drafts.
I got a note from Reggie on Friday, informing that he stumbled across the site last year and it was one of the only ones not blocked by his work…billions of dollars are lost in productivity each year due to Fantasy Football…companies should embrace it versus fighting it. But this is a good marketing ploy nonetheless…”FFLKing.com…able to dominate on draft day and bust through intranet screening to pop up on a work computer near you!”
It is crunch time…I have drafts on Tuesday and the following 3 Saturdays…we’ll keep ya posted on our teams. Another Cheat Sheet revision will be out Wed/Thu.
My take on Favre is that I do not take him. I was down on him last year and he proved me wrong…this year I am correct. I admire the sacrifices this cat yields…but in the mid 8th round I would rather wait another 2 rounds and pull a Ryan or a Flacco off the board and have them be my starter over him. If I am Minny and I want him to be around and relatively healthy come playoff time, I am handing the ball off to All Day AP and keeping him from getting the snot kicked out of him. There will be quite a few more dump passes, which he will get yardage for…but from an upside perspective I see no more with him than the other two above. The Saints exposed a few things last year and I am prognosticating a heavier dose of AP this year…hence his #1 overall draft position in my book.
While I am digging deep I am looking to find: Westbrook, Jennings, Douglas, Butler, Vick, Torain, Mewelde Moore, Hasselbeck, Morgan, James Jones, Lance Moore...and maybe even Cruz and that cat from Univ. of Toledo looking to do some damage in Zona this year--Stephen Williams...and no NOT Bobby Wade...that man crush left a long time ago when it turned into a scorned type of relationship!
August 19, 2010
I believe Favre in his reasoning for why he returned...some dudes told him they needed him and he felt compelled, as it is his duty, to help them try to win a superbowl...takes a lot of time and effort...Although there is a $20 million difference, I went through similar thing with the site...It takes more time than one might think. Not easy when your busy...but prior to getting the site back going there were quite a few folks that I got close to last year that starting pinging me...I wouldn't trade the cameraderie for nothing...nobody has more excitement than Favre on the field...no one has more excitement than The King in the Fantasy World...I feel compelled to help cats win thier Championships...and I continued to get frustrated with all the garbage out there, the made for the masses and flavor of the day garbage that the "experts" shove down fantasy ballers' throats...somebody has to keep it real!
I think I might take a shot on Brandon Lloyd (WR DEN) in later rounds. Someone gotta catch some balls out there in the Rockies...Definitely gonna look at Betts (RB NOR) in the later rounds. Hard telling if Bush and PT Bruiser are going to stay healthy...Also considering Deon Butler (WR Sea). Rookie WRs usually do not produce a heck of a lot and now he is in his 2nd year, he is a late round talented flyer. Kareem Huggins (RB TAM) also climbed into my cheat sheet this week...I am definitely keeping my eye on this dude...I am also keeping an eye on Brandon Tate (WR NWE). If Welker doesn't make it back soon, young talent has a chance to produce in that O.
Seems like in early August the fantasy forecast is foggy with some sun shining through...by the time most of my drafts happen at the end of August, I am left with about 10 guys I want to add to my 20 man rosters...others are walking up to the board or announcing players they feel are meaningless...you can hear it in their voice and see it in their non-verbals that their pick is meaningless...fantasy fools I say. The cheat sheet is getting tighter, the major snow globe changes are done...I got some work to do down in the "whites" but at this point, like the guys I listed above, it needs to come down to your personal preferences...
August 18, 2010
I am thinking that we shouldn't get too excited about Victor Cruz...afterall, Dominik Hixon pulled the same antics a few years back...and it is only pre season.
Looks like Harry Douglas is set to play Thursday...now this can be exciting, especially if he is at full speed.
As a Fantasy Football drafter, you have civic duties. Here are a couple of them...First, if the guy in directly in front of you or behind you drafts Chris Johnson then it is your civic duty to project when he will take RB Javon Ringer the pick right before that. Second, if the guy directly in front of you or behind you drafts Frank Gore then it is your civic duty to do the same with Brian Westbrook...that is the guy you want to be...not the other guy...
August 15, 2010
Da Bears…Times are a changing and maybe MM will too. I know he has been a TE Fantasy Killer in the past but I am still willing to take a shot on Greg Olsen in the 13th round as a back up…I’m still diggin’ Knox just a tad more than Hester. Before pre-season I was 50/50 on Forte…started to think that this guy was a top 5 pick last year for a reason and I can get him in the 4th round…then he goes out and posts 4 carries for 7 yards and the red warning lights go off…not touching him…now, if he had come out and posted 4 for 41 and a TD in a meaningless pre season game, my eyebrows might have perked up a bit…
I think the biggest wild card this year is Brian Westbrook…wherever he ends up, 2 fantasy owners in the league will have some questions that will only be answered come Sunday afternoons. I’ll take a gamble on him now in the 18th round just in case…I want to be the one guy who is asking the question because I own him…not the guy who was counting on the “other” RB to carry his team!
With rookie Ben Tate going down in HOU, I gotta move Arian Foster ahead of Slaton and project him to go in the 8th round…what a shame Slaton cannot hold on to the ball…
I am taking Roy Williams off my bust list. I think in the 12th round for where he is being taken he will provide some value.
Ted Ginn Jr. just might be the one to have in SFO. Yes, I said it! Just think, he’s not even being drafted. You might agree if you are within the half of a percentage of the population out there who believe that Crabtree will not live up to 4th round billing. Ginn Jr. didn’t exactly shine last year on a team with a QB that only threw 12 passing TDs the whole year…then again who could? And yes, I am with many of you in thinking that Brandon Marshall can! If defensive coordinators feel that Crabtree is as good as you all say he is…then with all that double and triple coverage someone like Ginn Jr. or Morgan surely can benefit.
My strategy in 2010 is based on maximizing my starting line-up points…same as last year. The key this year, which is somewhat different from others due to my perceived position depths, is that this does not mean I fill my starting line up before drafting a flex player. You see, my perceived position depth changes each year…This is one of the things that I want to hammer home with the audience this year. This philosophy is going to allow me to win my leagues…Fantasy Football IQ…wisdom…I haven’t seen anything written on it so I think that is my next calling…check back mid week for my Flex Player Drafting Philosophy for 2010...even before I write this I will self pronounce it the “Best Fantasy Football Draft Guidance Article of 2010 bar none!” Gonna be some deep critical thinking coming out this cranium…

August 14, 2010 (Bonus Time)
Looks like Vick is up to his old tricks...my thoughts are that he is going to see the field and while he is out there he is going to rob Kolb of production. I say 5-10 touchdowns worth. I keep thinking that maybe Andy Reid was satisfied enough with the potential of Kolb AND Vick to let McNabb go...I am staying away from the Kolb hype on draft day and trying to convince my fellow fantasy football ballers to not drink the Kool-Aid...I am thinking a new evolution at offense is coming in the industry just like the RBBC that took over a few years ago...it is called teh QBBC...first Miami makes the Wildcat a staple in their offense...next up dual quarterbacks version of the Wildcat...first stop in 2010 Philly with Vick, next stop Denver with Tebow...The King is taking Vick in the 20th over Kolb in the 7th!!!
A lot of folks are down on Rivers this year and I disagree. He is underappreciated and the lack of respect is going to motivate this guy...their defense is gonna give up some points and with the likes of Sproles, Gates and Floyd, there is plenty of talent to generate some passing yards. Face the facts, Rivers and Gates made Vincent Jackson...I think they can make Floyd too! s
Just thinking that this (a few weeks within drafting time) is my favorite part of the year...preparing for dominating on draft day is more fun than the actual event itself...
Looks like The Oracle's punking on 8-Ball might have just spooked him out of his hermit crab type shell of a hole he has been hiding in...8-Ball's pen is hitting the pad as we speak...

2010 is going to be another wild ride y'all. Especially now with The Oracle piping in. Gotta say I am not happy about him putting his hex on my boy Welker this year...but definitely can appreciatie him taking shots at 8-Ball in his journal. I am thinking that the 6th position is the place to be in this year's 12 team PPR draft. This is the "sweet spot" in my opinion. 8-Ball is going to write some thoughts on this and I look forward to his take. We find out next Saturday where we draft in our local league...as it stands now The Oracle has the 2nd spot in his World Championship League in Vegas, 8-Ball and I have the 12th position. I have a 7th out of 8th slot in another league I got pulled in to where they start 2 QB's. I looked at last year's draft for this one and do not expect much competition in winning that league...but at least I will get some extra spending money out of it. I will join the Online World Championship as well but have yet to pick the date. It is now crunch time y'all, strategies need set, gotta get your ducks in a row to take the cake...keep sending in your thoughts and questions as we get ready to dominate 2010.

I have come up with a new strategy on draft day after watching Hard Knocks last night...and it goes something like this...2d round RB Greene, 7th round WR Edwards, 8th round WR Holmes, 10th round JETS defense, 13th round TE Keller, 19th round QB Sanchez, 20th round K Folk...heck I am gonna draft the whole JETS team. Outside of The League on FX that launches on September 16th, there is no better show...
Starting to worry about Austin a little bit more each day...with all those weapons, starting to like Roddy White a little bit more each day.

Not sure about how you feel...but I am feeling slighted after reading The Oracle's Top Offenses for 2010. Not only did the Lions not make the Top 5...heck, they didn't even make the sleeper list. With superstar Stafford leading the way, how can such an obvious oversight happen? Megatron, Best, Burleson and Scheffler will give Stafford plenty an opportunity to have a King size year...even words like appalling, ludicrous, nonsensical and preposterous don't even come close to describing this injustice. WHEN IS HE GOING TO FIGURE OUT THAT THE LIONS ARE DALLAS BOUND THIS YEAR BABY! Yea, I know, so what if it will be on the 21st of November and not in February...I am still filing a grievance! If y'all can send me e-mails questioning how AP can be higher on my list than CJ, then y'all need to bombard TheOracle@FFLKing.com with questions on how he can sleep at night...not to mention the Bungle fans out there...what about Ocho, T.O., Bryant, new TE Gresham an all world Benson and former Trojan Palmer slinging the rock...?
Just sitting here getting some Goose-Bumps thinking about Hard Knox coming on in a few...check back for an updated cheatsheet tomorrow. I got a few folks to move around a bit...

The site is jamming again this year. Thanks for the continued props. Keep in mind, I am just getting warmed up yo! I am thinking that the terms "sleepers, creepers, busts, studs" and all of those other clichés are overused to the point that there is no such thing as a "sleeper" anymore. Not with all the publications and web sites out there that all seem to have the same names...so my pre-draft notes have been entitled "Wants, Needs, Likes and 'Bear Traps." As you know by now this is not a popularity or "made for the masses" publication...so we are going to do this the King's way!
I am thinking that I cannot wait for HBO's Hard Knocks with the J.E.T.S. JETS JETS JETS this year.

Archived 2009...time to turn the page brothers! Wow, it has been a while...I haven't been on to update the site for quite some time other than a while ago to post "the cheat sheet is coming." Been busy tho...but with all the e-mails recently, I have been persuaded to get back into the mix and post some stuff on here. Mostly up to this point I have spent my time strategizing for our (8-Ball and I) 12th position in the World Championships this year. We bought and are sponsoring a spot for Oracle this year (and of course the dude gets the 2nd Pick). Should be fun cuz Oracle has never been to Vegas...Seems like 8-Ball and I have been to Vegas more times than fingers and toes combined. I feel sorry for the Pro's in Oracle's league...they have not a clue what they are up against. I have been dealing with the stuff for 15 or so years...about time for someone else to enjoy in the butter knife style assault this dude brings.
I got some tricks up my sleeve this year...believe it.
