Week 1.....
9/6: Trent writes: "...I was wondering if I should start Rice at running back in wk 1. Also if you see anybody else that I should change, I would appreciate it.
Starters:
QB Flacco
RB Gore
RB Barber
WR Bouldin
WR Chris Henry ?????
TE/WR Witten
K Crosby
D Chicago
Bench QB Edwards, Orton, Sanchez
Bench RB Rice, LJ, McFadden
Bench WR Evans, Earl Bennett"
FFL King Writes: "Rice is a good start against Kansas City this coming week. This sounds crazy but I would consider starting him over Gore. Gore is in Arizona and they are okay against the run (middle of the road) but Kansas City is in the bottom bunch, I would say in the 5 worst along with Denver, Detroit, Cleveland...and maybe Carolina this year. I really doubt that San Fran is going to keep up with Arizona by running the ball...while I fully expect Baltimore to be running it down the Chief's throats after they get up by a couple touches.
I also think Tampa Bay is a really bad team, so no way I sit Barber in this one.
At receiver, I would think that Buffalo has to score and it isn't going to be on the ground against the Pats....Denver may not have that much luck on the road at Cincy, meaning they (Cincy) will try and run the ball against that porous defense...this is why I start the year off with Evans, thinking that he is not going to be doubled with TO on the other side and I have to think he at least scores. I know Henry scored a lot in the pre-season, but he might only see a few balls come Sunday...this also gives you a good reason to watch the game with interest on Monday night. Don't get me wrong about Henry, I like him a lot...I just wouldn't start him yet until I knew he was going to see 5 balls a game...
Although it is unconventional, I sit Gore and run with Rice...and go with Evans week 1.
Personally, I would also sit Flacco and run with Edwards...but this you could leave to a coin toss....
Best of luck this year!"

Brian writes " Thanks for the advice I agree with everything you said other than K. Smith
little hesitant to grab any lion player allthough they can only improve right.Just one more question why do you think Brandon Jacobs isnt a first rounder with ward gone shouldnt his work load increase he did have 15 tds
last year I believe my opinion is he should be top 5 rb but your the expert so give me your thoughts. Thanks ag/6ain
FFLKING: "In a PPR league, Smith will have a lot more value than Jacobs. Jacobs caught 6 balls last year. Jacobs did have 15 touchdowns last year and may do the same this year. Smith will have more than the 8 he had last year but will also have more catches and more total yards. The receiving yardage difference alone will be worth 5 to 6 touchdowns. Last year Jacobs 219/1089/15 and Smith went 230/976/8 and catching went 39/286/0. I wouldn't bank on Jacobs getting much more carries with his bruising style. He is also injury prone. The loss of a legitimate receiver will also impact the Giants running game a bit. Almost exclusive 8 man boxes. Ahmad Bradshaw has talent and so does Andre Brown, the Giants will use them to keep the distribution around the same as it was last year, in my opinion. I would count on Smith getting the ball more, he proved productive with a worse team last year. Jacobs is not ranked as a top 5 back because he does not put up the yardage the top 5 do....not even close. I would expect Jacobs to be the 14th running back off the board. Hope this helps.
Other note: If you are convinced that Jacobs is going to be a top 5 back this year, then take him in the second round. This is not a bad pick and he will not hurt you. At the end of the day, he may play the whole season, get 60 more carries, 300 more yards and put in 6 more touchdowns than last year. Anything is possible in fantasy football so go with your gut!"

Several have written "King, what's up with the colors on the cheat sheet? What do they mean?
FFLKING: "Use the cheatsheet to mark players off (cross lines through them) as they are drafted. The colors are tiers, which equal players of similar value. When making a pick you would look at who is left in that tier and decide if you want that position or want to take another position because you believe that another player from that tier will be available your next round. If you want to take a running back there are 6 other running backs in that same tier and only 1 wide receiver left in the highest tier left in the wide receiver column, and you have a pick in 5 more picks, then you would most likely make the decision, based on tiers to take the wide receiver because a running back of equal value will be there for you to take in the next round, but a receiver won't.
Cheet Sheet is just a checklist to use when drafting and is intended to keep everything in front of you on one page, making it easier to concentrate on your next selection. I would suggest using mock draft information (check my links page) and try and map out who you would like to take in each round to maximize your starting line up, based on your drafting position before draft day. Use the cheat sheet to manage your draft. You would further use the Cheat Sheet to determine your selection. If you are taking a running back, then you would take the highest running back left on your sheet.
The Cheat Sheet just provides tiered rankings with a few extras off to the right to make your draft go easier."

Dave writes "I am starting a league this year and wanted to know how many teams and what type of scoring
system you would suggest and why...?"
FFLKING: "Run a 12 team league and use World Championship of Fantasy Football type scoring system. They set the "gold standard" in my opinion. 12 teams seems to lend itself to parity where everyone has a weakness, with less teams everybody is starting studs and I think that takes the fun out of it. By having the flex position and limiting your roster spots to 20 then you can get a lot of action going in the free agent waiver wires."

Frank writes "Do you think Cassel is a starting fantasy QB and what is the fantasy impact of Gonzalez leaving have on Bowe?"
FFLKING: "I think Cassel should be a starter and is worth taking a gamble on this year, he had a great year with the Pats. I would expect a lot of folks to attribute his last year success to 'the system' but one thing is for sure...the Chiefs are not very good and the Chiefs like to throw the ball. When I look back at what Thigpen did last year, there is reason to believe that Cassel could be big. As for Bowe, I would think he is doubled more than not with Gonzo being gone. This is why Mark Bradley is on my sleeper list. Go with Cassel and Bradley. Look at other options than Bowe that should be around at the same time in the draft (Welker, Houshy, or Colston)."

Wayne writes “I know you say Terrell Owens (Buffalo) is out, but what round should I take him if I still want him?”
FFLKING: “If you want Terrell Owens this year, do not draft him. Wait for defenses to tee off on him the first three weeks with running back Marshawn Lynch out. Then wait another week for Miami to keep him out of the end zone at LandShark Stadium. Make a trade for him before week 5; that is if you still want to. If you must draft him, try late 3rd round.”

Jim writes “I have seen a lot of hype about Chad Ochocinco (Cincinnati) this year, what round does he go in and is he a sleeper this year?”
FFLKING: "Jim, I think Ochocinco is a bust this year. Due to the hype and the big name, I would look for him to go in the 5th round. I think Laveraneus Coles (6th round) and Chris Henry (13th round or later) have a lot more value for where they will be taken."
